Each Rigix tablet contains cetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg
Each ml of Rigix oral solution contains 1 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride
Description
Cetirizine, an active metabolite of hydroxyzine, is an antihistamine; its principal effects are mediated via selective inhibition of peripheral H1 receptors and are indicated in allergic conditions
Indications
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis
- Perennial allergic rhinitis
- Chronic idiopathic urticaria
Dosage
Tablets:
- Adults & children above 12 years: One 10 mg tablet daily
Oral Solution:
- Children 1-2 years: 0.25 mg/kg body weight b.i.d.
- 2-6 years: 1 teaspoon once daily or ½ teaspoon b.i.d.
- 6-12 years: 2 teaspoons once daily or 1 teaspoon b.i.d.
- Above 12 years: 2 teaspoons once daily

Rigix in Pregnancy
Although some studies did not produce any evidence that usage of Rigix cause any malformation during pregnancy yet as a precaution, Rigix Tablets or Syrup should not be used or administered to the pregnant women. For further details about usage of Rigix during pregnancy you should consult your doctor.
Rigix Medicine Side Effects
- Normally a person can feel dizziness, dry mouth, dry nose and dry throat after using this drug.
- Headache is also a regular side effect of rigix.
- A person’s stomach can be upset after using rigix in some cases.
- Constipation or trouble in sleeping is also some common side effects of rigix.
- Mental/mood changes like confusion and hallucinations are some serious side effects of rigix but they are rare.
- Ringing in the ears, difficulty in urinating and vision changes are also some side effects of rigix.

I’m in Pakistan these days.. My son had cough from 6 days then on 6th day he vomited… Doctor gave him antibiotic and Rigix syrup… If Rigix is for allergy then why for vomit v can give??
Rigix is not for vomiting. I would say you don’t need to give him anything for vomit. It’s viral which will settle by itself in few days.
