National Accountability Ordinance 1999/ NAB Ordinance
National Accountability Ordinance which is also known as NAB was promulgated by the President in 1999. Purpose of this ordinance is to provide for effective measures for the detection, investigation, prosecution and speedy disposal of cases involving corruption, corrupt practices, misuse of power, misappropriation of property, taking of kickbacks, commissions and other related matters.
This statute creates a powerful and independent National Accountability Bureau along with special courts for the trial of corruption related cases.
