NA 149 Multan-II 

NA 149 is a constituency for the seat of Pakistan’s National Assembly from Multan District. Multan District is very important in Southern Punjab politics and there are total 6 National Assembly Seats of Multan. NA 149 is also known as NA-149 Multan-II and it is the second of total 6 seats from District Multan of Punjab Province.

This constituency is known for senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hamshi. His political career came to an end in this constituency. In 2002 General Elections, Malik Liaqat Ali Dogar of PPP own the seat. In 2008 General Elections, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi won the seat as PML-N Candidate. In 2013, Javed Hashmi won the seat as PTI Candidate. Later on Javed Hashmi left the PTI during Imran Khan‘s movement against Sharif Family. Javed Hashmi resigned from the seat and announced that he will contest election as Independent Candidate to show Imran Khan that he won that seat due to his own personality and not due to Imran Khan. PTI supported independent candidate Amir Dogar in that by-election against Javed Hashmi and PML-N supported Javed Hashmi. The result was astonishing as Javed Hashmi lost election and people showed their anger in form of vote upon Javed Hashmi’s decision to betray Imran Khan in the middle of movement. Hence many people believe that this constituency is the political graveyard of Javed Hashmi.
