NA 126 Lahore
NA 126 is constituency for the seat of Pakistan’s National Assembly. It is also known as NA 126 Lahore-IX and ninth of total 13 National Assembly seats from District Lahore of Punjab Province. The area of constituency includes “Kot Lakhpat” locality of Lahore city Model Town, Gulberg, Makkah Colony, Naseerabad, Shah Kamal, Pakki Thatthi, Kashmir Block, Rehmanpura, Gulshan Iqbal, Sikandar Block, Awan Town, Garden Town, Model Town, Township, Liberty, Ferozepur Road, Kalma Chowk, Faisal Town, Garden Town, Wafaqi Colony, Allam Iqbal Town, Wahdat Colony, Najaf Colony, Punjab University New Campus, Muslim Town and parts of Johar Town and situated along the National Highway N5.
In 2002 General Elections, Liaquat Balooch of MMA won the seat. In 2008, Umer Sohail Zia Butt of PML-N won the seat. In 2013 General Elections, Shafqat Mehmood of PTI won the seat and defeated Khan Ahmad Hassan of PML-N. History shows that this constituency is not among the strongholds of PML-N like other constituencies of Lahore.
