The Pakistan Bar Council nominated Dr. Khalid Ranjha as member of the Judicial Commission. Dr Khalid Ranjha also served as law minister in previous government and presently PML-Q senator. Judicial Commission is constitutional body which is formed as result of passage of 18th amendment of Constitution of Pakistan. This body will select the judges for High Courts and Supreme Court of Country. The Chief Justice of Pakistan is the chairman of the commission. It comprises two senior judges of the Supreme Court, a former chief justice or former judge of the Supreme Court nominated by the chief justice, federal law minister, attorney general and a senior advocate nominated by the PBC for two years.
With the nomination of Dr. Khalid Ranjha the Judicial Commission of Pakistan is now completed which has following members:
1-Chief Justice Iftkhar Chaudry as chairman
2-Justice javed Iqbal
3-Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan
4-Justice (retd) Ali Hussain Qazalbash
5-Dr. Khalid Ranjha
6-Babar Awan (federal law minister)
7-Attorney general of Pakistan
